Firstly, to those of you who wonder where the heck are the rest of my posts, I am so sorry it has taken me so long to update you but various circumstances made this building construction painful journey even more painful until the very end, juggling with various priorities and poking around in the dark at times, BUT….surprisingly, we managed to rent the apartment out off the plan, just like that! With people falling in love with the design concept and innovation, looking through a pile of rubble but seeing the potential of the finished product. Without even marketing the property!
Now the painful bit: They want to move in on the 15th of the current month and the apartment still looks like a bombsite.
We’ve been working round the clock 24/7 and we are now 7 days away from delivery. Outch!
Here’s what has been done so far:
Bathroom panels – box ticked! [well, half ticked as we discovered some of the panels are bulging a bit from water infiltration as the shower has been tested without the skirting board installed. My guessing is water infiltration via the bottom edges.
Lighting appliances – box ticked! [we picked a stylish combination of led strip lighting throughout and up-down appliances for indirect light]
Heating – box ticked! [gorgeous top-of the-range vertical style Milano Aruba radiator for the hallway and a contemporary electric fireplace in between the cathedral windows.
Schedule for the next few days:
– Plastering, flooring and installing the kitchen. Hopefully should be done and dusted before the end of next week, assuming everything goes smoothly.
– Furnishing and landscaping of the garden will be the very last thing before we hand over the keys. Wish us luck!
